Interested in Space Research? Space Academy is the place for you! Join us in an incredible journey where you will go from designing and building your own payload to launching it into space on board of a sounding rocket or a long-duration high altitude balloon!
You will be part of a team participating in the Cubes in Space Program by developing your own Sub-Orbital Mission to conduct Space Research.
Students 11 to 18 years old. Homeschoolers, unschoolers, self-directed learners, all are welcome.
Space Academy will start in September 2024 and will end in the summer of 2025 with the launching of your payload.
Sessions will be held at the Ore Mill House in the Western Museum of Mining & Industry, 225 North Gate Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80921.
You will receive training spanning from proposal writing, technical skills, project management, systems engineering, etc.
Because the era of space exploration needs experts with curiosity, ingenuity and creativity, and we want YOU to be ready.
Space Academy will follow both Academy School District 20 (D20) and the Western Museum of Mining & Industry (WMMI) directives for closures. Sessions will be canceled if either D20 or WMMI are closed. Cancelled sessions will be rescheduled or credited for the following month's tuition.
We are accepting sponsors to cover tuition, materials, travel and T-shirts. Please contact us whenever your organization is ready to make a difference in workforce development in the space industry!
